Frequently Asked Questions

What is the procedure for changing access rights?

Each school has a designated Webmaster, who is named by the school principal. The webmaster is the school's primary web site administrator and contact person for the district school/class web program. When other staff members need access to edit web pages, the webmaster can request that access rights be changed — this request must be in writing (e-mail is preferred) and must be directed to Aaron Isaacs at aaron.isaacs@fayette.kyschools.us.  No changes will be made unless the request comes from the school webmaster or principal. If the webmaster resigns and a new one needs to be appointed, the request must come from the principal. No exceptions will be made to these rules!

We want to establish web pages for all our staff, for clubs and departments, and so forth.  What is the procedure?

Teacher subwebs are not housed on school webs. All teacher subwebs district-wide are located at http://staff.fcps.net. Contact Aaron Isaacs at aaron.isaacs@fayette.kyschools.us to request a new teacher subweb. Please Note: Do not link to a teacher's website which is housed on a server other than http://staff.fcps.net.

Subwebs for clubs, departments, etc., can be located on the school website. One common strategy employed by school webmasters for managing subwebs might involve granting a teacher right to maintain a website for a department, a club or an athletic team. Another might be to grant a parent or other outside volunteer right to maintain a website for an auxiliary school organization, such as the band or an athletic team. (In that case, you will need to request an Umbraco account be created for the volunteer.) If the school webmaster has given permission for someone else to edit web pages on the school website, a subweb must be set up. Contact Aaron Isaacs at aaron.isaacs@fayette.kyschools.us to request a new school website subweb.

What is my password to gain access to our website?

The account you use to access your school website is your Umbraco account; if you forget your username and/or password, please contact Aaron Isaacs.
