How a Plant Gets Food
 

To complete this activity, the teacher used a Intel Microscope, scan converter, the Internet, handouts, a celery stalk, red food coloring and a desktop PC.

The teacher took a picture of the celery veins before it was placed into food coloring. Another picture was taken after the food coloring traveled through the veins. The two pictures were compared.

Students were asked to draw a picture of the celery before the food coloring. Another picture was drawn after the food coloring traveled through the veins of the celery.

Students visited websites about the parts of plants and what they need to survive.

After viewing the websites, students opened the Paint program and created a picture of the parts of a plant as well as what a plant needs to live.
