A Visit to Africa

A WebQuest for the Students of Ms. Lindsay

at Leestown Math, Science & Technology 

Introduction

By studying other nations and their people and cultures, we can learn how to better appreciate people who are different from ourselves.

Task

Each group of students will research a particular country or countries in Africa.  Each student must submit their own worksheet, although you may collaborate with your partners to find information PROVIDED ALL MEMBERS OF THE GROUP ARE PULLING EQUAL WEIGHT!!

Process

1. Read through your entire worksheet so that you are familiar with the information you need to locate.

2. Visit the resources above to collect the information for the worksheet.

3. You will find the information you need for questions 1 - 3 in the first resource, for question 4 in the second resource, for question 5 in the third resource, for questions 6 - 9 in the fourth resource. The remaining questions may be found in the last two resources or in one you have already visited.

Evaluation

This project is worth a major test score. The worksheet is worth 80% of the grade, and your effort and participation in the group work is worth 20%.

Conclusion

By understanding that people have backgrounds quite different from our own, we can hopefully understand why not everyone acts and behaves just like us. This is important so that we can all learn to get along with each other.
