Meet Mrs. Barr

Hi!  I am Mrs. Barr.  I have been a classroom teacher for 17 years.  I received my degree in education from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  I earned my Master's Degree in Elementary Curriculum Supervision at North Texas University,   I'm so pleased to be able to work with your child this year.

Newsletter for the week of November 4th

Dear Families,

We have another busy week planned in our classroom.  Please remember that there will be no school on Tuesday, November 5th because it is Elections Day.  And don't foget to vote!  Here is what we are doing this week:

Literacy:  We are reading Stewart Little by E. B White.  If you have the video or have seen the movie, you may want to discuss the differences between the movie and the book with your child.

Math:  We are learning how to "regroup" 3 digit numerals in addition.  When you were in school, they probably called this carrying!

Social Studies:  We are learning about the regions in Kentucky.

Technology:  This week we are learning how to edit using Microsoft Word and reviewing keyboarding..  I found a great web site I think your children will enjoy.  It is:  http://www.
