Web
Sites of the Week
States
Games

Grades 3-5: A number of
on-line games to reinforce states, state capitals, and regions. A
great site which could be used as a center, for small group work,
or as a large group activity.
Rebus

Grades K-2: Favorite
children's songs, poems, and nursery rhymes in rebus form. Would
be great with small or large groups.
Using
Internet Sites in Your Classroom
What
comes to your mind when you think of using internet sites for learning
activities? Many times we think we need to be in the lab to use
internet sites for instruction. There are a wide variety of ways
to incorporate this dynamic tool! How you teach with a
computer is influenced by your teaching style, the age of the students,
the subject matter, and available equipment!
I'd be
delighted to spend a few minutes with you to share ways to teach with
the internet in your classroom. Just touch base with me, and we
can set up a time to get together. I'd be glad to get you started
by providing the initial instruction, or assisting you the first few times
you use technology for classroom instruction.

P.E.T.
Projects
Imagine
two days to collaborate with colleagues and get help developing
standards based units. Planning for the Engagement of Technology,
or P.E.T. Projects are a terrific way to plan your units. Past
P.E.T. Project units have been used by many teachers through out the
district. Applications are due by September 20th. Please let
me know if you could use help applying!
