Digital
Storytelling
FCPS is embarking on a
new era in student writing. For the past three days, Technology
Resource Teachers and representatives from pilot schools have been taking
training in the powerful, new media of digital storytelling. The
goal of the project is to improve the writing scores of our students.
Our trainers came from
the University of California at Berkley. Their department is home to
both the Center for Digital Storytelling and the National Writing Project
(parent to the Bluegrass Writing Project).
I have had the good
fortune of spending these past three days working along side Kelley
Reason (Yates). Kelley has taken an incredible story, created by
former students, and transformed it into a spectacular video.
Looking for a
Grant?
Do you need a grant
for a special school project? FCPS keeps a data base on grant
requests. As we come across available financial resources, we can
match them to the school or teacher requesting a grant. If you need
assistance, lots of help is available. For more information, and to
reach the on-line form to request assistance, go to:

staff is encouraged to change passwords. In some
schools, they want passwords changed on even a regular basis.
Your school STC can advise you on how often to change your password.
Many STCs need to know your new password in order to perform regular maintenance
on computers. Before changing your password, it is best to contact your
STC if you are not certain of your school's policies.
