Our 10 day keyboarding program

Keyboarding

My calendar is already beginning to fill up, so now is the time to schedule keyboarding!  Our 10 day program is EASY, FUN, and really produces results.  In fact, of all the keyboarding programs we have available to us, it gets the VERY BEST results!  In general, the following would be optimal for elementary schools:

1.  Begin keyboarding with 4th grade first thing in the fall, and do periodic follow ups until portfolios.  You wouldn't teach multiplication for 10 days in the fall and never look at the process again until the test!

2.  Teach keyboarding to 3rd graders before and after portfolios.  In most schools, the 4th grades generally use the AlphaSmarts during portfolios.

3.  Continue regular reinforcements with 5th graders, who should have had keyboarding in 3rd and 4th grade.  Some of the Middle Schools are beginning to ask for 5th grade keyboarding scores, and 6th graders are expected to start the year with 20 words per minute minimum.

4.  Keyboarding can be made available to 2nd grade after 4th, 3rd, and 5th grades have had an opportunity to schedule keyboarding.

5.  All grades need regular reinforcement.  It would be my pleasure to come to your class to teach a 30 - 45 minute review!
