Did You Know ?
- In FCPS,
Keyboarding is ONLY OFFERED in elementary school on a district
wide basis. This is also true in most of the
surrounding counties.
- Most FCPS
elementary schools require keyboarding in 3rd grade so
that the students are more effective in writing portfolios
in fourth grade.
- Many FCPS
elementary schools introduce keyboarding in 2nd grade.
- In FCPS, the 10
day Success With Keyboarding Course (taught on
AlphaSmarts) followed by frequent review on UltraKeys is
recommended.

Diane Newton's web pages (K-Lansdowne) have been recognized by
Maggie Wilson (Webmaster for FCPS instructional web pages) as being
an example for others to follow, and is listed on the Staff

Christie
Wilson (2-Yates) has coordinated the computer lab schedule with
her primary math schedule. Every Monday she takes her math
students to the computer lab to work on related activities.
Harrison
has just received a grant to purchase the Accelerated Math
program. In previous years, the same grant provided the school
with a projector, WiggleWorks, the classroom set of AlphaSmarts
& cart, and other resources.
