A Head Start for 2004-2005

Here is a great way to get a head start on your P.D. for 2004-2005
(and it's FREE)

From Greg Drake,
Coordinator of Instructional Technology

Registration for Fayette County's Technology Enhanced Classroom (TEC) Conference will be closing soon.  The conference will be June 2 at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School.  The focus of the conference is research-based programs and strategies with technology, and how those programs and strategies can be used in your classroom.

We're proud to announce that our luncheon keynote speaker will be Dr. Ted Hasselbring of the University of Kentucky.  Dr. Hasselbring led a team of educators at Vanderbilt University who developed the highly successful reading program, Read 180.  In his keynote, Dr. Hasselbring will share his expertise on how you can use many different research-based programs to significantly improve student achievement in your classroom!

More than 25 other sessions will be offered throughout the day on topics such as elementary writing forums, improving reading fluency among elementary students, middle school mathematics, video production, and web-based problem solving that increases standardized test performance among high school students.

The TEC Conference is free of charge.  It's open to Kentucky Classroom Teachers and Technology Resource Teachers.  Unfortunately we can only accept a limited number of registrants and it's filling up fast, so please sign up soon!  Registration will end on Friday, May 7.
