Tip
Ooooooops! I Didn't Mean to Send That!
Have
you ever sent an e-mail, and then realized you goofed?
That is such a common event! Today's tip will help you "Recall"
e-mail items from Microsoft Outlook!: This only works for
e-mails that have not been opened by the recipient.
Recalling
sent messages
- Click
Sent Items.
- Open
the message you want to recall or replace.
- On
the top Menu Bar, click on the Actions menu, then click
Recall This Message.
- To
recall the message, click Delete unread copies of
this message. To replace the message with
another, click Delete unread copies and replace
with a new message, click OK, and then type a
new message. It's been my experience that the second of
these two works better.
- To
be notified about the success of the recall or replacement for
each recipient, select the Tell me if recall succeeds or fails
for each recipient check box.
A
special thanks to TRT Kim Overstreet for these directions.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When you
recall an e-mail, the original recipients will see a message
that says "Message Recalled."

STUDENTS
& TEACHERS: Make teaching a little easier for
yourself. Use PowerPoints other teachers have made! In
the classroom, you can teach with these PowerPoints using a computer
connected to a projector. These lessons can also be
independent learning experiences at a center or during computer
rotations.

Around
in the Schools
-
Christy
Wilson (formerly Hollon: Yates 2nd Grade) has all kinds of
technology projects going on in her classroom! After
completing Success With Keyboarding, her students are finding it
EASY to write stories in WiggleWorks.
-
Lansdowne
fifth graders are becoming proficient in using individual
student e-mail accounts. Annette Moore and Carol Long are
also starting their students in the FCPS Instructional Student
Forums. If you are interested in getting student e-mail
accounts, or participating in the forums, just let me know!
-
Outside
her classroom, Emily Dugar (4th grade at Harrison) is displaying
Excel graphs of daily hours of sunlight. This is a 4th grade
activity from the Competency Assurance, and is EASY to do on a
computer. If you would like to learn how simple it is to make
graphs on the computer, just let me know!
