Teacher Tax Break

As you are working on your 2002  taxes, remember that teachers get a $250 deduction for classroom expenses.  I know most of us spend a lot more, but at least it is a start!

And did you see that darling little girl on the cover of this month's Kentucky Teacher?  That's a picture of Harrison's own Brittany Andrews.  In addition, you'll want to watch for Harrison in an up-coming "Inside Kentucky Schools" on KET.

Lansdowne has recently received a federal Bluegrass Pride grant to build an outdoor classroom. 

Yates received much attention for their project with the humane society.  Staff and students contributed food and funds to help the shelter.  Graphs were created to chart the progress of the project!

Grades 1-5 and Teachers:  I know teachers like to make puzzles and wordsearches, but have you ever thought of having your students make them?  When I was evaluating Arlington on the District Technology Assessment, I saw a 1-2 class where students wrote spelling words in the puzzle and wordsearch maker as one of their learning centers.
