Valentines for Vets

Those were the days, my friends, when we could send real valentines to the vets!  But in this age, the only option is electronic.  One sure way to show our appreciation to those who serve our country is through the Dear Abby project:

http://www.OperationDearAbby.net

At the elementary level, many classes send e-mail through the teacher's school account.  A class could dictate an e-mail letter to the teacher, who then writes the message on the board or flip chart.  If the class consists of older students, they can take turns transferring the message into an e-mail.  In younger classes, the teacher generally has to transfer the message into e-mail.  All elementary students enjoy signing the e-mail.

I 2 Read

February is the I 2 Read month; and I know many schools are planning special activities to celebrate reading.  If you are looking for a guest reader, please call on me.  It would be my pleasure to read books, or electronic books to your class. Just send me an e-mail to set up a time!

Are you looking for some high-quality sites for on-line reading activities?  You will find comprehensive lists of links for on-line reading, book clubs, and book templates at:
