How May I Help You?

A picture is worth how many words?  A great way to illustrate information in just about any content area is through the use of graphs.  Additionally, our state tests often include graphs and charts.   Graphs can easily be woven into your lessons using Excel or additional software such as Graph Club.  To learn more about incorporating graphs into your lessons, just send me an email, or touch base with me the next time I am at your school.

TECH TIP

Stop wasting keystrokes

All the typing you do in your lifetime can add up (just ask those of us who suffer from repetitive motion problems).  You can stop wasting  unnecessary keystrokes when you want to replace text with new text.

To replace text in Word (and in just about every other Windows application, truth be told), all you have to do is the following:

  • Select the text you want to replace.

  • Type in your new text.

Word magically deletes the selected text and replaces it with your new text.

A special thanks to
TRT, Kim Overstreet, for this Tech Tip!

Web Sites of the Week

Kentucky Core Content Links
http://coekate.murraystate.edu/katelinks/

STAFF:  The Kentucky Academy of Technology Education at Murray State has wonderful links to help you teach the Core Content.  This has a wealth of information to help you with units and lesson plans throughout the school year.

TOON UNIVERSITY
http://www.toonuniversity.com/demos.asp

PRE K-?:  This site has some great animated reinforcement games for all grade levels and all content areas.  While a membership is required for the majority of the activities, they have some wonderful FREE activities.  One of my favorites is the money game called "Discovering Coin Values."  Many of the free activities would make a great learning center!
