Using United Streaming

The district has graciously purchased access to the United Streaming Video service for every teacher in Fayette County.  If you haven't checked out the multitude of videos and clips that are available, you are really missing out.  Don't think of United Streaming as just another video to pop in, but rather as a tool to enhance your curriculum.  It is simple to download just the short clips you need that best pertain to what you are covering on a given day.  You can simply show downloaded clips or you can embed them in PowerPoint presentations, word documents or web pages for students to access during center time or other opportunities.  Many videos also have teacher's guides and blackline masters.

Keyboard Shortcuts to Save Time

With all the work you do on the computer, there are several keyboard shortcuts that can make life a lot easier when working with text and graphics. Below are the ones I use most often. You can use these instead of clicking on the same thing with the mouse. If you are doing a lot of typing it can really make things faster for you. If you have any questions, or need help, please let me know!

• Save - Press CTRL + S
• Cut - Press CTRL + X
• Copy - CTRL + C
• Paste - CTRL + V
• Bold - CTRL + B
• Italics - CTRL + I
• Underline - CTRL + U
