Constitution Resources

Sept. 17th is the day that all schools are required by federal law to teach about/discuss the Constitution of the United States.  When the 17th falls on a weekend, schools may choose to teach the content either the week before or week after the 17th.  The resources below may be of some assistance as your school decides how to cover this important topic.

General Resources for Teachers

Elementary Resources

  • The Constitution Game - a short activity that will get students thinking about how the men felt when trying to write the constitution - good for intermediate and older
  • Constitution Quiz - online quiz from White House for Kids website
  • Constitution Word Scramble - printable from White House for Kids website
  • Charting the Constitution - this interactive site prompts students to study the promises made in the Preamble and identify the meaning and what benefits they provide
