Advanced Internet es

We have all spent hours on the Internet looking for that perfect site.  Below are some advanced tips that can help narrow your es to what you are looking for.  These are specific to www.google.com, but will probably work with most engines. 

Phrase es – Whenever you have a specific phrase that you want to for, put the phrase in quotation marks.  (Ex. “Statue of Liberty”)  Your results will be limited to sites that include the entire phrase rather than just the individual words (ex. statue, liberty).  This is especially helpful when ing for famous sayings and proper names.

 “-” es – es for words with multiple meanings and can often be frustrating.  Limit your by excluding certain terms using the “-“ sign.  For example, bass can refer to fish or music.  If you only want to find pages on fish, then type your this way:  bass –music  Make sure that the minus sign is directly in front of the word you want to exclude.

 “+” es – This type of works just opposite of the one above.  If you want to be sure that a word is included in your , then put a “+” directly in front of it.  You can also combine any of the above techniques to further refine your es.
