Oct. 1 2003         DOL Computer Tag

Objective:      To use correct punctuation.

Activity: Students take turns at the computer in the order as posted.  A list of sentences without punctuation (depending on the punctuation being taught)  are provided in a Word Document.  Type the sentences in black then set the letter color on red.  The first student enters the correct punctuation in the appropriate location then quietly tags the next person on the list to go to the computer to correct the next sentence.

Review the sentences via a projector or scan converter.

Assessment:  Students will complete a sentence.

Extension/Enrichment

*Add other grammar skills as is the tradition with DOL.

*Do five sentences a day which will involve 5 students tagging.  Then print a sheet per small group of students to check the sentences for correctness.

*Have sentences relate to content presently being taught in another subject.

*If providing sentences relating to content, have students to play reverse computer tag and create sentences with errors for the next day's computer tag.

*Provide a clue to direct students to correct skill being targeted.

*Individualize sentences according to student IEP.  Remember the number on the name poster will match the number of the sentence.

Here is your first group of sentences for computer tag for a class of 17 students.  Remember right click and "save target as" to download.
