POS-S-P-LS-4 Students will understand that organisms resemble their parents.

 

TLW match baby animals with their parents.

 

SC-E-3.3.2 The world has many different environments. Distinct environments support the life of different types of organisms.

TLW create environments with appropriate animals by using Kidspiration. 

MA-E-1.1.2 The operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

TLW work with another partner to create and solve addition problems in one Kidspiration document while using Kidspiration on another computer to use manipulatives (pictures) to solve problems.

Reading

AH-E-3.1.31  (Begin to) Identify and discuss the dramatic elements (plot or story line, beginning, middle, and end) in plays.

TLW use the Wiggle Works program to listen to a Reading Counts stories then participate in whole class to answer the Reading Counts test.

2nd-SS-E-4.1.1 Simple physical, political and thematic maps, globes, charts, photographs, aerial photography, and graphs can be used to find and explain locations and display information.

TLW explore the Terra Map site more to find their school.  TLW complete a US map puzzle combining all 50 states in the correct position.

Heat and Light from the Sun

SC-E-2.2.1   The Sun provides the light and heat necessary to maintain the temperature of Earth.  The Sun’s light and heat are necessary to sustain life on Earth.

TLW create various food chain using Kidspiration showing the sun to be the beginning of all food chains.

 

POS-M-P-NC-26 Students will understand and count unit fractions, such as one-fourth, two-fourths, and three-fourths in real world context.

TLW complete various math activities counting units of fractions.

TLW demonstrate a given fraction of a line or circle by drawing the problem given on the web site on paper, writing the answer, then enter the answer online to check for accuracy.
