Forces

SC-E-1.2.3 The position and motion of objects can be changed by pushing or pulling. The amount of the change in position and motion is related to the strength of the push or pull (force). The force with which a ball is hit illustrates this principle.

TLW use the Magnet and Springs site to determine the force of a spring according to the distance it is pulled.

TLW compare the change in force that position and incline and push and pull has on an object.

WR-E-1.4 Transactive Writing is informative/ persuasive writing that presents ideas and information for authentic audiences to accomplish realistic purposes like those students will encounter in their lives. In transactive writing students will write in a variety of forms such as the following: letters, speeches, editorials, articles in magazines, academic journals, newspapers, proposals, brochures and other kinds of practical/workplace writing.

TLW view a model of a feature article in the form of a brochure and then using a Word template from the same site compose their own brochure about their school.
