TLW view various pictures in a Power Point and determine if the picture is a landscape, portrait and still life with the whole class and then with a class partner.

 

AH-E-4.1.32 Art Elements color. (primary and secondary hues) and color groups (warm, cool, neutral) value, space

TLW mix primary colors to make secondary colors then classify pictures in Kidspiration into primary and secondary color groups.

TLW listen to the story Frog & Dog found on www.antbee.com site then use Kidspiration to create a story of one kind of animal helping another animal.

 

Reading

AH-E-3.1.31  (Begin to) Identify and discuss the dramatic elements (plot or story line, beginning, middle, and end) in plays.

TLW use the Wiggle Works program to listen to a Reading Counts stories then participate in whole class to answer the Reading Counts test.

TLW measure length of items using nonstandard units

MA-E-2.2.3 Identify and draw basic two-dimensional shapes in different orientations using rotations (turns), reflections (flips), and translations (slides)

TLW view a united streaming video entitled TEAMS: Geometry Concepts: Geometric Concepts for Primary Grades: Slides, Flips, and Turns to determine definitions of terms presented.

 

MA-E-2.2.3 Identify and draw basic two-dimensional shapes in different orientations using rotations (turns), reflections (flips), and translations (slides)

TLW connect information acquired from video & determine if pictures in a Power Point file remain the same when rotated by using the rotation tool.

 

MA-E-2.1.4 Symmetry, congruence, and similar figures

TLW will create symmetrical designs.

 

3rd  grade
