CA Students will demonstrate one-to-one correspondence.

TLW use Kid Works to create sets of pictures that are equal to each other by placing a set on one page and a set with the same number of items on the opposite page.

SC-E-3.1.1 Things in the environment are classified as living, nonliving, and once living. Living things differ from nonliving things. Organisms are classified into groups by using various characteristics

TLW use Kid Works to classify pictures of living and nonliving things.

SC-E-3.1.2 Organisms have basic needs.  For example, animals need air, water, and food; plants need air, water, nutrients, and light.  Organisms can survive only in environments in which their needs can be met.

TLW create a picture in paint that shows one animal and all the basic needs for that animal.

TLW record basic weather info from the weather channel site for 4 days.

TLW observe the movement of earth, sun and moon then create a picture in Paint showing the correct position of the earth, sun and moon.

 On demand: Some people think the government should spend money to rebuild New Orleans and some do not.  Write the President of the United States a letter explaining your belief.  Provide at least 3 reasons with illustrations for your belief to convince him what should be done. 

5th grade

Practice simple math facts each day with Mad Minute

TLW work with Keyboarding and First in Math.

TLW explore the Microsoft Publisher software to be able to create a newsletter.  (The skill will be used later to publish the school literacy newsletter.)

TLW use the Internet to research an event in history that caused life to change.

TLW write various articles in their newsletter explaining details that happened before, during and after their chosen event in history that cause life to change.
