TLW identify 3D Geometric shapes.

MA-E-2.1.3 Basic three-dimensional shapes including

TLW use Kidspiration math activity template entitle "Shapes" to sort various objects according to 3D shapes including spheres, cones, cylinders, pyramids, cubes, and triangular and rectangular prisms.

SS-E-4.4.2 Introduction to how people adapt to or modify their environment (e.g., produce food, build shelter, make clothing) suggested link; seasons: how people relate to climate/weather, geographical features, and natural resources.

TLW use Kidspiration to show the types of clothes people wear in the winter, types of activities that occur in the winter, weather, and other scenes that depict winter.

AH-E-3.1.31  (Begin to) Identify and discuss the dramatic elements (plot or story line, beginning, middle, and end) in plays.

TLW use the Wiggle Works program to listen to a Reading Counts stories then participate in whole class to answer the Reading Counts test. 

TLW count from 1-10 by playing Spin-a-number.

TLW will identify, compare, and contrast three-dimensional shapes and objects using use an interactive internet geoboard and other interactive sites according to ability.

 

 

POS-SS-P-E-1 Students will recognize fundamental economic concepts. (e.g., wants and needs, making choices, money as a means of exchange).

TLW use Kidspiration to group items according to Needs and Wants.

 

2nd grade-POS-M-P-NC-38 Students will solve two-digit problems using addition and subtraction with manipulatives and symbols (CA- with no regrouping). 

1st grade-POS-M-P-NC-10 Students will read, write, count, and model whole numbers, 0-100, developing place value for hundreds.

TLW use base 10 manipulatives to show the place values of 2 digit numbers &(1st grade-attempt to)determine the answer to a 2 digit addition problem without regrouping.

POS-ELA-P-R-1   Students will listen to a variety of genres (e.g., stories, poems, articles, including memoirs) to form an understanding of reading and develop text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world connections

TLW take a Reading Counts quiz on a book read or one listen to via Wiggle Works.

TLW use an interactive internet geoboard to recognize, describe, model, draw, and compare: quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and octagons.

TLW explore and determine properties of a rectangle and parallelogram and other polygons

POS-M-4-GM-1 TLW will analyze structures of geometric figures of an interactive java script program while recording results.(e.g., points, rays, lines, segments, perpendicular lines, parallel lines, angles). Detailed Lesson.

TLW write various articles in their newsletter explaining details that happened before, during and after their chosen event in history that cause life to change.

Information from previous lessons: TLW use the Internet to research an event in history that caused life to change.
