Mrs. Lewis' Digital Project

During the school year 2002-03, seven elementary schools in the Fayette County Public Schools system were involved in a Digital Story Telling Pilot program.  Classroom teachers and Technology Instructors from Arlington, Dixie, Northern, Meadowthorpe, Stonewall, Veterans Park, and Yates were involved.  Students in grades third through fifth wrote personal narratives, memoirs or transactive pieces that were illustrated digitally.

In early September, Instructors attended an intensive three day workshop provided by the Center for Digital Story Telling.

Each teacher was given a new computer, scanner, head phones, Adobe Photoshop and Pinnacle Studio 8 software.  The teachers and tech instructors were  provided technical and instructional support by their assigned Technology Resource Teacher.  Two other Technology Resource Teachers were involved with hardware/software support and another TRT was specifically assigned to collect data and provide instructional support.
