Tech Tip From Kim Overstreet

Tech
Tip #34--Looping sound throughout a PowerPoint show
This
tip deals with adding sound to PowerPoint presentations and
having them loop through the entire slide show.
- Open
the slide show to the slide to which you want to add sound.
Click
Insert from the menu bar.
Choose
Movies and Sounds.
Choose
either Sounds from File or Sounds from Gallery depending on
where you saved your sound file or if you are getting it from
the clip gallery.
When
you insert the sound you will get a message asking if you want
to continuously play the sound through the show. Choose
OK.
Now
you will see a little speaker on the slide. I would move
it to the corner where it will be out of the way.
With
the sound still selected, Click on Slide Show from the menu bar.
Choose
Custom Animation.
With
Media highlighted in the next window, go to the Multimedia
Settings Tab.
Choose
continue slide show and choose stop playing after 20 or 30 or
how many slides you want. I usually set it much higher
than the number of slides I have if so that I can insert slides
and I won't have to change this.
Then
click More Options.
Check
Loop Until Stopped.
Click
OK.
Make
sure you view your slide show to see that it actually does play
and continues throughout the slide show.

Holiday Facts and Fun- Valentine's Day
Why do we send cards and flowers to loved ones on
Valentine's Day? Who is Dan Cupid, and why does he shoot arrows at
unsuspecting victims? Why is the red heart a symbol of love? These
and many other questions are answered in this light-hearted,
fact-filled look at one of our favorite holidays.
One Zillion Valentines
Frank Modell's delightful children's book,
"One Zillion Valentines," comes alive in this animated
program. Two enterprising friends, Milton and Marvin, prove that
Valentines are for everyone.
Holiday Facts and Fun- Presidents' Day
Children learn why George Washington and Abraham Lincoln are given
special recognition on President's Day. The video explains why
Washington is known as the "father of his country." It
also tells the story of Lincoln's emancipation proclamation and
explains how our 16th president prevented the United States from
being destroyed. Students learn why cherry pie is a traditional
treat on Washington's birthday and they discover that Lincoln grew
his beard at the suggestion of an 11-year-old girl.
