Welcome
August 2004
Volume 1 No. 1

Welcome back!  I'm looking forward to working with you this year. I am in the process of handing out my schedule when I arrive at your school.  You may also check my schedule page to see when I'll be visiting.

Check out these Web Pages
created by Fayette County TRT's
Barbara Barr's Olympic Page:  Here are some wonderful sites for students and teachers!
Election 2004 Check this site that I am putting together for students and teachers for lesson plans and activities.

Take lots of digital pictures throughout the year.  You can use them for sorting in centers, power points, and even a class digital story about the school year.  They make wonderful writing prompts as well.  Need help with how to use your school's digital camera?  Drop me an e-mail and I will be happy to show you and/or your students.
Interested in communicating with other schools in Lexington, with in the State, US or even Internationally?  Forums are a great communication tool, easy to use and I will be more than happy to set them up for you.  I have several ideas for using them within your own classroom.  Kids of all ages love them and e-communication is quickly becoming a life skill.

Techie Tip from Kim Overstreet

Tech Tip #2--Putting a signature on your email

If you would like to add an auto signature to all of your email messages follow these simple steps:

· Open Outlook

· Choose Tools

· Then Options

· Select the Mail Format tab at the top of the window.

· Click the Signature Picker button at the bottom

· Choose New

· Next

· Type in the signature that you want to show up in your email

· Then Finish, OK and OK again.

You might want to send yourself an email as a practice run to see if it shows up and looks the way you want it to. You can always go back in and edit it.
