Do you have lots and lots of pictures from
this school year? Why not turn those pictures into a class digital story.
Students can select pictures from "big events" (field trips, guest speakers,
special activities) and write a paragraph about the experience. You can
use
Photo Story or Windows Movie Maker to create your digital story. |

A police officer advises students on how to make bicycle riding
safer and more fun. Topics include bicycle maintenance (tighten
all bolts), safety gear (always wear a helmet and shoes), and
safety rules (DON'T ride on the sidewalk). Review questions and
summaries after each segment help fix the concepts in the
viewer's mind. The facts presented in this practical program
could prevent injuries and even save lives.

Bikes are a lot of fun to
ride, but it's important to handle them safely and responsibly.
McGruff explains why bicycle and pedestrian laws protect
bicyclists and other people. Using examples from his files,
McGruff illustrates safety points that children should always
remember, whether they are on a Bike or on foot. They should
obey all traffic signs, ride at the proper speed, check
intersections before crossing, and wear helmets.

This program teaches children to take responsibility for their
own safety and to think before they act. Children will learn
that everybody needs to act safely to be safe -- even adults.
