Collecting and Importing Pictures

When beginning a picture story, the first step is to create a folder on your desktop. To create a new folder, follow these steps:

1. Right click on the desktop somewhere
2. Click on "New"
3. Click on "Folder"
4. A folder will appear on the desktop. Rename the folder "picture story".

Place all of the pictures for the picture story in this folder. Do not move the pictures or the folder until the picture story is complete.

Open Windows Movie Maker from the start menu of the computer.

Under Movie Tasks, find the heading "Capture Video", then choose "import pictures". Movie Maker will ask which file to import. Browse to the desktop and find the folder named "picture story". More than one picture can be selected to import at a time by holding down the shift button when clicking on the files. Once all the files for importing have been selected, click the button labeled "import".

Pictures are placed in the the story by click and dragging the photo into the storyboard located at toward the bottom of the screen.
