Cities and towns vary in terms of population, structure of
government, history, natural resources, economy and business as well
as location, geographic features and culture and how these have
changed over time. In this unit, students will study the Lexington
they live in. They will be able to describe the type of government
and important roles within the government. They will be able to
identify natural resources and key businesses in Lexington and the
role they play in the economy. Students will use research skills to
learn about and be able to describe historical events that occurred
in Lexington as well as famous people or animals (Horses, Lexington,
KY). Students will also research how Lexington has changed over
time and predict how Lexington might change in the future. They
will compare their findings to students who live in other
“Lexingtons” using technology. |
