Introduction
Hi, my name is Polly.
I am a penguin. You are going to go with me on a journey to my home in Antarctica.
You will see lots of neat things and meet lots of my friends who live
there.
Task
You will be gathering facts about climate, the land (called topography) and the animals in Antarctica. I have a sheet that you can fill out on our journey. When we return, you can share what you have found with your class by creating a picture.
Process
Use this worksheet to help you gather facts.
Antarctica is a continent. A continent is a really big piece of land. We live on the continent of North America. Look to find three facts about Antarctica.
I have lots of animal friends that live in Antarctica, too. What kinds of animals do you think live there? Look to find three different animals that live in Antarctica. Be sure to draw a picture and write down two facts about each one.
Now, draw a picture of Antarctica. Ask your teacher for paper and crayons or markers. Use your fact sheet to help you. Write your three sentences on the bottom of your picture. Share the picture with your class.
Evaluation
You will be graded on:
Facts found
Your Picture
Your Talk.
I
really liked taking you on a trip to Antarctica. I hope that you have
learned a lot.
