Directions for setting up sync stations for Palm Pilots and DIBELS use
To sync a Palm Pilot with DIBELS on it, you have to
install two pieces of software: Palm Desktop and WGSync.
Installing Palm Desktop software
- Using
the Install CD that came with your Palm Pilot, put the CD in the CD drive.
Follow the installation wizard instructions as prompted. You will need
to reboot your machine during this process.
- When
your machine reboots, complete the installation steps as instructed.
Installing WGSync software
- Go to
http://www.mclasshome.com and log in
with your user ID and password.
- Go to
the "Support and Resource Center" section and click on "Enter".
- In the
right hand column, go to the fourth section and click on "Software Downloads".
- In the
right hand column under "mCLASS Conduit", click on the "Windows Installer"
link.
- The next
page is a license agreement. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the
page and click the "Agree" button.
- The next
page that comes up will automatically start the download process. (NOTE:
If you have Service Pack 2 on your computer, you may get a little sound and a
window popping up. It will ask if you noticed the Information Bar on
your screen which is right above the mCLASS symbol. Click OK on the
window. Follow the directions on the Information Bar about downloading
the software.)
- Start
the download. When prompted, click "Save", and save it to your desktop.

Double-click on the mCLASS-sync-pc.exe file on your desktop.
- The
installation wizard will begin. Click "Next" when prompted.
- Read the
license agreement and click "Yes" to continue.
- VERY IMPORTANT: You will
be prompted to choose between a "Personal" or "Public" sync station, choose
"Public" if more than one person will be using this sync station, then click
"Next", then "Next" again.
- When the installation is completed, you
will be asked if you want to set up a handheld. If you need to do so,
leave the checkbox as is, and click "Finish". If you do not need to set
up a handheld, uncheck the box, then click "Finish".
You should be
able to use your Palm Pilot now to sync your data with the mCLASS website.
