What is folklife? What impact does it have on me? This webquest is designed to help you learn more about all the components (or parts) of folklife. You will also learn how you are a part of folklife each and every day.
After learning all about folklife, you are going to pass on what you have learned to other students in your school.
Your task is to become an expert on what folklife is and on one form of folklife. You will research your form of folklife, then create a product to share with younger students in your school. The product could be a brochure, newsletter, booklet, multimedia presentation, webpage, or whatever your teacher approves as a product. It should involve the use of technology in some way in creating it. You will use whichever Microsoft Office tool you need (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & FrontPage).
You will be assigned to work either individually or in a group by your teacher.
Your group will first research what is folklife by researching several web sites.
Next, your group will pick or be assigned one form of folklife to research indepth.
Conduct your research be using the links available in this webquest. Take notes in Word while doing your research. Review some of the images available here. Be sure to remember to cite your references (i.e. write down the URL showing the address of the website).
Work together as a team to create the product for your group. Be sure to remember it will be given or presented to younger students, so be sure and remember your audience as you create your product.
Give or present your product to the younger students in your school.
Your teacher will evaluate your work based on these criteria:
