What's new for November/December

This year, students at Linlee are reading books that have been nominated for the Kentucky Bluegrass Award.  The students fill out ballots and the final tally of votes for each nominated book will be submitted to KBA on April 1.

Ms. Spaulding, Library Media Specialist, has created an online voting form so that students can submit their votes for the Bluegrass Award.
Story time is a favorite part of each class visit to the library.  Mrs. Spaulding is reading a book called “I Stink” about a garbage truck.  This is one of the nominated books for the Kentucky Bluegrass Award.

After reading a book, students can take a Reading Counts quiz and earn points for prizes.  Reading Counts is a program by Scholastic that lets students take quizzes on books they have read.  Points are awarded for every passing score.  Currently, Linlee has over 4000 quizzes available for students.

Linlee’s Library Media Specialist, Lisa Spaulding, incorporates technology daily with classes in the library.  She also teaches technology skills in the computer lab.  Check out Linlee’s web site for many of the resources and activities that are available for students, teachers and parents.
