ESL WebQuests

Famous Hispanic Americans Students choose a famous Hispanic American to read about and create a poster on.  Created for the ESL students at Leestown.
What career will you choose? Students will choose a career and find information on that career.  Once they have gathered the information, they will present that career to the class.

Health/PE WebQuests

Body Tune Up Students are to identify Bummer Body's health problems and then gather information that will give him a healthy body.
Personal Trainer Needed Students set up a health and fitness plan to use when training a person who wants to pass the Air Force Academy's fitness test.

Language Arts /Reading WebQuests

African American Achievers Students chose an African American Achiever to study who is not one that people tend to hear about a lot.  They will design a statue or a monument to honor this person.
Black History Month Students will choose an African American who has made a significant contribution to the quality of life gather information and create a presentation to share.
Citing Internet Resources Students will learn how to cite internet resources properly by writing a short informational piece on their favorite animal or sport while using the internet for research.
Famous Hispanic Americans Students choose a famous Hispanic American to read about and create a poster on.  Created for the ESL students at Leestown.
Getting to know SE Hinton This is actually a scavenger hunt where students will learn more about the author of the Outsiders.
The Holocaust Students will complete this scavenger hunt to learn a little more about the Holocaust and what happened then. 
The Last Spin This webquest is based on the story by Ed McBain/Evan Hunter about teenage street gangs and how they solve their problems. 
Spywatch--An interactive reading adventure "Soon, you're going back in time to the 1940s in the Second World War. Your mission is to track down spy suspects and become a Master Spycatcher."
The Truth...and Nothing But the Truth: persuasive writing webquest Students will write a persuasive piece and create a presentation on a topic they choose.
Unusual Animals This is a hotlist for students to research an unusual animal with a partner.
Watt's Tower After reading about Watt's Towers in LA, student will learn more about the history of the towers and the man who built them in this activity.
A Woman's Place Students will study the role of women in different countries and create a presentation for their class discussing the similarities and differences.
Write On!
Author Study WebQuest
This webquest is meant to introduce students to some of those authors who specifically write for adolescents and their works. 

Math WebQuests

Best Weather Students will work in groups to define "best weather."  Then they will select five possible cities and collect data from weather websites about their weather and use this information to select the "best weather" city.
Gang of Fifteen Currency Exchange Students track down international thieves based on clues as to their location.  They also decipher how much money was stole by using exchange rates.

Practical Living WebQuests

Career Webquest Students will choose two careers based on interests and style and research to find facts about those jobs.  They will compare and contrast the careers and present the information to the class.
Nutrition WebQuest After completing this webquest and learning about the nutrients, food pyramid, and dietary guidelines, students will write a newsletter that will be sent to the homes of many American adolescents.
What career will you choose? After studying careers in class, students choose one of those careers and find information about that career.  They will present this information to the  class.

Science WebQuests

The Active Earth Students will gather information on earthquakes and answer questions on the worksheet provided.
Careers in Science Students will gather information on a science-related career and present to the class.
Kentucky State Parks Students will gather information about one of Kentucky's state parks and complete a presentation to give to members of a travel agency.
Stem Cell Research Students will work with their group to make recommendations to the National Science and Technology Council as to the future of Stem Cell Research.
Virtual Field Trip to Antarctica Students travel through and study Antarctica.

Social Studies WebQuests

African American Achievers Students chose an African American Achiever to study who is not one that people tend to hear about a lot.  They will design a statue or a monument to honor this person.
Ancient China Hotlist  This list of websites on Ancient China is not a webquest.
Ancient Greek Adventure Students will tour ancient Greece as they work on one major project or two smaller projects.
