Body/Kinesthetic -- High Energy or Body Smart

Claymation Movement in Art lesson
Hands on Crafts has ideas for kids to recycle trash into art. Playing Charades to act out scenes from history, a story you've read, a culture you are studying.
Students create an act out the story of the Wright Brothers at the end of a unit. Have students use a SMART board or Mimeo to input data or navigate the computer.
Create a dance about an African American Achiever as the final project for this webquest. In this Creating Movement Through Literature lesson, primary students will learn that they can use the words from a book to generate dance movements.
In this economics lesson, K-5 students play a game of charades acting out producers and consumers. Use scientific probes and other equipment.
Create video productions of skits, dances, demonstrations, etc. Create virtual tours.
Use K'NEX, Lego Mindstorms or other robotic programs. Create and perform a Sun Dance for a primary science unit on the sun.

A variety of Online Adventures (PBS/NOVA) are available for students to virtually explore different types of nature. Marly's Amazing Micronautic Adventures--lots of microscopic images.
"Bucket Buddies" is an online project recommended for elementary school students (grades 1-5). Students around the United States and other countries will collect samples from local ponds to answer the question: Are the organisms found in pond water the same all over the world? "Take a Dip" is an online project for middle school students.  From September 9 - November 15, 2002, students will team up around the globe to test fresh water. Join this collaborative project, comparing the water quality of your local river, stream, lake or pond with other fresh water sources around the world.
