Subject: Tech Tip #13 Good
Morning! This week's tip involved
moving files easily from one place to another by using Windows Explorer.
·
Right click My Computer
·
Select Explore
·
You will see a window with
two parts to it. The left will be
folders and drives on your computer and the right side will show the contents
of whatever drive or folder is selected on the left window.
·
To move a file from one side
to another, you will need to get the file showing on the right.
To do this you follow the location on the left side.
The following directions will show how to move a file from My Documents
to a floppy disk. (These
directions are specific to Windows 95 which is what most computers in the
district have, if you have 2000 and want to know how to do this, let me know.)
·
On the left side, double
click on C:
·
Then double click on My
Documents
·
On
the right you will see all files and folders that are located in My
Documents. Scroll to find the
file you want to move.
·
Scroll on the left until you
see 3 1/2 Floppy A:
·
In the right window, Right
Click and drag the file from the right-hand window to drop it directly on top
of 3 1/2 Floppy Drive A: in the left-hand window.
·
You will be asked if you want
to Copy, Move or Create a Shortcut. Select
the appropriate one. And it is
done!
Good
luck! Let me know if you have any
questions.
