Book Review:

Wow! I have just finished reading a wonderful book, NUMBER THE STARS. I recommend this book for ten and up, and I am sure you will love it. I understand more about the time period and place. This book was mostly about friendship, and it taught me that friendship lasts forever.

The setting was in 1943 during War War 2 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

In the book there was two main characters Annemarie, and Ellen. Annemarie is a tall, loving, caring, courageous 10 year old little girl. Ellen has a Jewish religion, and is scared that her parents won’t make through the war.

The theme is always be willing to help your friends no matter what happens.

In Copenhagen, Denmark where Annemarie and Ellen live all the Jewish people have to be relocated, including Ellen and her family. Annemarie and her family can only hide Ellen, though. When Ellen was spending the night with Annemarie the soldiers came in looking for Ellen, but they couldn’t find her. Annemarie, her family, and Ellen move in with their uncle Henrick and he takes Ellen and her family to be safe in Sweden.

If I had to rate this book 1 to 10, I would definitely choose a 10, and I hope you will too, because it taught me a life lesson. Once I picked up the book, I couldn't put it down. This was one of my favorite books. Don't you want to read the book now?
