Kim, with Katy and Jake
|
Kim is a Glasgow, Kentucky native, moving to Lexington about 8 years
ago with husband Mark. She holds a bachelors in elementary education with
a middle school endorsement from Western Kentucky University ("Go
Toppers!"), and substitute-taught in Glasgow and Barren County before
moving to Lexington and
joining the staff at Bondurant Middle School in Frankfort, where " .
. . I taught mostly Math, most of it in 7th grade." Along the way she
gained a masters in library science from UK, joining the ranks of Fayette County Public
Schools in 1998 as a school technology resource teacher, school technology
coordinator, and Student Technology Leadership Program sponsor at Tates
Creek Middle School. She had the distinction of being pregnant during a
portion of each
of the three years at Tates Creek Middle!
Kim joined the district TRT staff this year. Her school
responsibilities currently
include Leestown, Winburn, Southern, and Jessie Clark Middle
Schools, where she has earned a reputation as a can-do technology
integration specialist. When not on the job, " . . . I am
usually playing with my three-year-old son, Jake and my 18-month-old
daughter, Katy. I also love to read, play Rook or Spades, and see lots of
movies."

| Wayne Erminger - STI
Training and Support
Mr. Erminger and his family moved to Lexington in August
1984, from Jacksonville, Florida, " . . . to get away from the heat and to enjoy
four distinct seasons." Although he is native to Jacksonville, he has lived
in Rome, Georgia; Cocoa Beach, Florida; Udorn Thani, Thailand; and
Edwards, California, where his son was born. He thinks Lexington is the
best place he has ever lived and intends to retire here.
Wayne holds a Bachelor's Degree from Berry College (Mt.
Berry, Georgia), and a Masters from Chapman University (Orange,
California), and has many additional credit hours from the University of
North Florida (Jacksonville), and EKU. He began his Fayette County
teaching career teaching English at Lexington Junior High School (now
Lexington Traditional Magnet School) before transferring to Paul Laurence
Dunbar 11 years ago. Before joining Doug Gibson in the Student/School Management Systems
office in October, Wayne spent his last three years at Dunbar as a
guidance counselor.
Although he misses the contact with the students, Wayne
currently is enjoying his role in supporting the county's STI products and
helping teachers and administrators via the 2000 FCPS Help Desk. He also
enjoys writing instructions for STI novices and teaching classes in the
Ambrose computer lab. Currently he is working on an STI technology web
page so people in the schools can easily download instructions to get help
or updated information.
Wayne and his wife, Judith, have a son, Mikael, who is
living in Tempe, Arizona and is studying Computer Science at the
University of Phoenix.
