The
FCPS Threaded Discussion Forum
Threaded discussion forums are not new, and there have
been attempts to implement this capability in Fayette County before. But
it's been updated, and several teachers have written its
use into instructional units. It's now available for general use! Here's
how it works:
For teachers:
- You apply for a Forum
- You submit a list of participants to the forum to the
forum
administrator
- You, and all other users of the forum, must register
in the Forum environment (registration
requires a verifiable email address).
- You moderate your forum
For participants:
- You must register in the Forum environment (registration
requires a verifiable email address)
- You select the a forum, and a topic
- To participate...since access to all forums (except
the general "Forum Use" forum) is restricted, your name must
have been submitted in advance by the forum moderator. If you do not,
but should, have access, send an email to the forum moderator or the
forum administrator (clickable links are on the forums).
- Some forums are only visible to members - if you do
not see a forum to which you should belong, it does not mean it
doesn't exist - email the forum administrator.
If you need help with how it works, or how it could be
used in instruction, look at the Forum
information page, contact your tech resource teacher or the forum
administrator.
