Fayette County was wonderfully represented at the Region 5 STLP
Conference held December 11, 2002 at Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY.
Sixteen schools took students to the conference to participate in many
different ways. Some groups were there as observers to learn, while others
participated in the competitive categories. Numerous other Fayette Co.
schools sent their STLP Coordinator to attend so they could receive first
hand experience with the conference, get ideas to take back to their
schools, and make plans for attending next year's conference.
Schools that took students to the conference were: Arlington, Garden
Springs, Julius Marks, Mary Todd, Maxwell, Picadome, Beaumont, Bryan
Station Middle School, Jessie Clark, Leestown, LTMS, Winburn, Eastside,
Henry Clay, P. L. Dunbar, and Tates Creek.
The following schools participated in one or more of the competitive
categories of the conference. Each is listed by category.
Conference Associates - Individual students from these schools
completed specific tasks to support the conference. Students assisted by
supporting the team that organized the conference, helping judges with
needed materials, and delivered needed materials from one location to
another. These students were competing to become a conference associate
for the Kentucky Teaching and Learning Conference (KTLC) in March, 2003 in
Louisville, KY.
