Literary Book Club

Attention, Teachers! The Literary Book Club now has interactive, online chats! From here, teachers can schedule the opportunity to have their class chat online with another class about a book they have read. The site coordinators may also organize special chats that anyone can participate in. As chats are scheduled you will see when you log in. Click on the title of the chat to enter that room and talk with the other class. All chats are monitored by LBC committee members.

Below is an example review from the Literary Book Club. Have your students submit their own book reviews! All grade levels welcome! Instructions are on the site.

Attention, kids! Students with featured reviews get free books!

Title: Noodles Makes a Boo Boo Reviewer: Tavone
grade 3
Author: Jones, Marcia Teacher: Littrell, Amy
Illustrator: Ware, Chris School: Russell Elementary

Review:
Have you ever heard a story about robots? Well, I have and the robot breaks dishes, and gave a dog a new hair-do,and made the toys fall.

This story takes place at home and school.

The characters were Noodles, Danny, Bailey, Dad, Mr.Falkner and Boo-Boo.

Noodles and Danny enter a science fair. Noodles project was a robot. Danny's project was testing to see if Baily the dog would go fetch different kinds of balls. Boo-boo would always mess up what Noodles and Danny told Boo-boo to do and then Noodles would do adjustments. Danny wins the science fair. I thought this book was funny because the robot got into lots of trouble.
