Focus Enhancements announces their 9th Annual Thoughts and
Dreams video contest. Separate Elementary, middle, and high
school categories. Details on the Focus
Enhancements web page (there's a printable color poster
there as well).
- Student.fcps.net
The new Web portal to district-supplied student email
accounts, as well as other resources, is up and running!
- Web Address Change
Did you notice the new link in this month's TIPS newsletter
email? In keeping with the Office of Educational Technology's
role in
supporting general educational goals, itech.fcps.net is
now teach.fcps.net, the web presence for Curriculum and
Instruction. The itech web prefix will
continue to work for awhile, but all references to itech in
school and teacher websites will need to be changed. See
this page, prepared by Maggie
Wilson, for easy instructions on how to do this quickly and
painlessly. Update your links and shortcuts now!
- WebMail News
Note
the following change to WebMail's configuration: emails
originating from WebMail are no longer stored automatically in
your "Sent Items" folder (this is different from
Outlook or Exchange.
In
addition, WebMail does not recognize "Reply To" - all
replies will go to "From" - this is also different
from Outlook or Exchange.
A
Sense of (Virtual) Community... Do you know your next door
neighbors? Do you know who your city council representative is? Do
you know the name of your newspaper deliverer? ...the owner of the
gas station nearest to your home? ...the president of your
neighborhood association?...the owner of the restaurant nearest to
your home? If you answered "No" to all of these questions,
then you probably don't have a sense of community associated with
your home's physical location. ( ...more...)
