Long Description: |
If you have a mobile lab in your school (or you dream of having one) this workshop will help you find out how to maximize its potential. Using an actual mobile lab, we will show you examples of classroom strategies that work and offer lesson ideas for your mobile lab. In our district we are seeing more and more mobile labs coming into the schools and not much guidance in how to use these most effectively. Through this workshop, we will discuss findings of our year-long research project on student to computer ratio and provide strategies and lessons that are ‘best practice’ for mobile labs. Participants will be actively involved in lessons that can be adapted and used in their classrooms. We will also discuss classroom management of a mobile lab. |

Research: |
This presentation is based on a research study that we are doing this year at Tates Creek Middle School and Southern Middle School. The study is based on the student to computer ratio and its affect on teaching. We expect to see a higher level of teaching and learning in the classrooms where there is a higher ratio and more project based learning and cooperative groups. |
