Students will review the different animal groups by completing two Kidspiration activities. In the first activity, students will drag the picture of an animal to the correct group (mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, or insects.)
Then the teacher should read, Animalia, by Graeme Base. This is an ABC book of animals, but is very engaging for students. As the teacher reads the story, use the Animal Chart and create a cell for each animal. Ask students to identify which category the animal belongs to, and put the cell beneath that group. An example of a partially completed activity is below.

Another book that could be used is The Water Hole, by Graeme Base. This is a shorter book, with fewer animals.
