Transactive Writing-Feature Article Style

Transactive Writing uses both the writer and the reader. One way to do this is a Feature Article. A Feature Article in a non-fiction prose writing that explains your opinion with the facts. The reader attempts to leave the audience with something to think about.

Students will have done research on their topic, using the internet, encyclopedias, ect. After the students have collected their research and completed the written portion of this assignment they will put it into a News Article format.

In this lesson, students will learn how to take the written feature article and type it into a MS Word template. (Right click on that link and choose Save Target As... to save the template to your computer.)This template has 2 columns and a heading,  The students will also be able to insert pictures to illustrate points in the article.

Student instructions will include directions for using the template and inserting clipart.
