Discussion: This lesson is much more student directed, but they are still being restricted as to what tools will be used to construct their final project. That makes this a Stage 4 example.

Enhancements:

• As before, offering a variety of possible culminating project formats for the students to choose from would make this a Stage 5 lesson. 
• Another way in which to increase student direction might be to construct an interactive forum environment in which students might discuss the characteristics of their own region, thereby informing the other participants (see the Fayette County Schools Forums for how that might look). Collaboration between the various student participants in the forum on the content and appearance of the final project would also qualify this lesson for Stage 5.
