Objective: Given a topic from a class theme, the student will be able to name the various resources available to locate reference information.
Academic Expectations: 1.1, 1.2, 1.16, 3.4, 5.1, 6.2, 6.3
Resources: Content Area Reference Books, CD Rom Encyclopedias ( Encarta, Grolier), on-line encyclopedias (Encyclopedia Americana)
Sample Activity:
After a class discussion about a class theme taught, the teacher will model how she/he uses various resources to search for additional information about a given topic. The teacher will model using an index in a non-fiction book, searching a CD Rom or on line encyclopedia database, and using key words to search the Internet.
