proper ergonomic guidelines
Grade Level: Sixth
Objective: Students
will continue to refine ergonomic guidelines as they continue to
grow.
Academic Expectations: 1.16
Resources: Kentucky
CyberKeys - p. 7
Sample Activity:
Due to student growth still at this age,
students still need to be reminded about proper ergonomic
guidelines. The students will continue to refine their ergonomic
techniques with reminders from the teacher as computers are used
in their classrooms.
The students will demonstrate appropriate
keyboarding techniques while working at a computer. The
techniques should include the following: sit straight with your
back against your chair; do not slouch; sit six to eight inches
from the machine with your body in front of the "j"
key ; place keyboard and mouse properly at your workstation; use
correct hand/finger positions; keep elbows in a relaxed natural
position; elevate your wrists; use a document holder when keying
from written copy; keep your eyes on your copy; use a steady
pace when keying; and use appropriate hand to press
"shift" when keying capital letters.
