Skill T4.2: Demonstrate appropriate basic care of computers and other technology
Grade Level: Second
Objective: The student will be able to apply and communicate appropriate computer uses to other students. The student will properly hold and insert a diskette and/or CD. The student will cover computers and printers and clean (dust) the computers appropriately when needed.

Sample Activity:
The student will explain reasons for having guidelines for appropriate use of computers to younger students. For example, the student will show the younger student how to hold the mouse, place fingers on the keyboard, the importance of having clean hands when working on the computer, and explain rules about no food or drink near computers.
The teacher demonstrates how to cover the computer when not in use, and how to clean (dust) various computer components. The student will learn how to hold a CD or diskette for appropriate insertion into disk drives.
