Skill T4.4.3.2:  Index (broadening and narrowing)

Grade Level:  Tenth

Objective:  The student will conduct an Internet search for research information by effectively broadening and narrowing the index

Academic Expectations:  1.16, 3.3, 3.4, 3.7, 5.4, 5.5, 6.2

Resources: Yahooligans, StudyWeb, Inspiration (concept webbing software)

Sample Activity: 

The students will be required to use the Internet to generate research information based on a class assignment. The students will use pencil and paper or computer software such as Inspiration to develop a list of keywords from which to begin their search. The students will then independently locate the needed information from the Internet using an index.
