Skill T4.4.1:  Determine When Internet Search May Be Effective

Grade Level:  Ninth

Objective:  Given a topic for a research project, the student will generate various key words for further research and determine which key words would be appropriate to use to search the Internet.

Academic Expectations:  1.1, 1.2, 1.16, 3.4, 5.1, 6.2, 6.3

Resources:  Internet Search Engine (Yahooligans, etc....), Inspiration (Concept Mapping Software)

Sample Activity: 

Students will use Inspiration or pencil and paper to web various key words based on a research project. Students will then examine the key words generated and determine which words would produce effective Internet search results.
